Tangless Coil Threaded Insert, however, can be installed without the use of a tang using specialised tooling and have notch located at either end of the coil insert instead of a tang located at one end of the inserts. The absence of a tang eliminates the risk of the metal tang falling into safety critical applications such as engines or electronic equipment.

In fact, Free Running Tangless Insert is identical to tanged inserts in every way except for their method of installation and removal.
Tangless inserts provide many advantages over tanged inserts.
Stainless Steel Threaded Inserts allow for non-destructive insert removal. Thread Inserts Without Tang are easily adjusted and easily removed after installation.

Approved for use in military programs. Bi-directional design eliminates any need for specific insert orientation.
Tangless Free Running Insert is available in  Free Running,Screw Locking and strip-feed varieties and in Inch & Metric sizes.
